When It's Springtime in Texas

This post is about springtime 2017!  I know what you are thinking.  I realize this is being written closer to springtime 2018, but this is how we roll around here.  Always catching up.  It's really easy to say "I'm going to get this all caught up and I'm going to keep it up to date" but life happens and you get behind!  In fact, I think we are one of a few that have even tried to continue with a blog.

Stock show season is about to wind down, the grass and weeds are coming out, and the flowers are beginning to bloom.  We love spring time, except for the occasional stormy weather events.

Someday, we will look back at all these pictures and words and hopefully they will brighten our day with great memories.

We have come to love the Gaither Vocal Band's music.  One of the members
is this guy:  David Phelps.  To say that Beverly likes him would be a huge understatement!!
We saw the Gaither's at the Abilene Civic Center!

How about these colors?

Add a little salvia......

This is an iris we bought at Spring Fling from a local iris grower.

Sunrise coreopsis.

Dianthus, a perennial favorite for us!

How about a gardenia?  This is a plant that Annie's parents sent to Beverly during
her treatments.  Hamilton isn't a typical gardenia area, but we made it work!

The trees are coming out, the leaves are beginning to shade the yard and it
won't be long until the pollen will cover everything in sight!

Bebe and one of her girls.

Who are these two monkeys?

Or these?

Track season started early this year with Taylor winning the 400 at Hico!

Pres and Papaw in front of Dayle Anita's house, Rhineland Texas.

Lester, Riley, Dayle, Papaw and Presley at Gerard's funeral.

Four of the Kuehler boys:  Nathan, Byran, Mama Dayle, Kevin and Randy.

St. Joseph Church, Rhineland, Texas.

Gerard's gravesite; lots of flowers!

Love this view of the cemetery with the church in the background.
April 21, 2017.

Gerard ginned many bales of cotton here.

Munday, my home town!

After all these years, they say they still remembered my outstanding scholastic record!

We took Presley with us when we went to Gerard's funeral in Rhineland.
Looks like we might have just been down the "Big Dip."

A stop by Jordan and Ashley's after the funeral for a little cousin time.

Trying out the roller skates!

Saying goodbye, Eskimo style!

I wouldn't be too sure about these two!  He's probably saying, "Hey, hold my beer
and watch this!"

Just out for a Sunday drive!

Found these while exploring in Granbury.

Bucket list!  Check off eating at Grumps!

Jordan getting ready to plant Beverly's mother's day gift.  She
has been wanting a yaupon holly for a long time!

The finished product!!

Leighton, just hanging out in the yard!

Papaw telling Remington just how things are!  You can tell he's really listening!

Lunch break; pizza on the porch!

These two girls have a ball when they get together on the tree swing!

We were just thinking about going fishing.

We spent a lot of time untangling lines and baiting hooks!

Mother's Day, 2017.

Lunch at El Jardin for Mother's Day, 2017.

Another of our mothers!

I wish they would hurry up and bring my food;  I have an appointment in a few minutes!

Our first crop of green beans from the garden.

Finally got the new stove top installed.  I think we had it for a year before
we, I mean Danny, got it and the microwave put in!

I love it when a cooktop and beans come together!

Magnolia House garden in Waco.

Fun run, 2017.  Personally, I don't see the fun part!

Our little pea picker!

The Wolfe Nursery wolf!

He proved that money indeed does grow on trees!  Going to Wolfe Nursery every
Sunday afternoon was a common thing for Beverly's family.  John and Dorothy said they
would never move anywhere west of Wolfe Nursery again!  Remember,
they had lived in Alpine and Rankin before coming to Stephenville!

Dublin Bottling Works, the old Dr. Pepper company.

Our little artist hard at work!

Leighton painted her Bebe's nails for her!

Let the gymnastic meet begin!

Dad's turn.......

He always was a gymnast at heart!
