September Activities

When school starts, everything gets busier, even the traffic in Hamilton.  With four grandkids in school now, and with two school teachers in the bunch as well, September can be a busy month even  when you are retired.  Beverly finished all cancer treatments on August 31 ending a long year of travel back and forth from Temple and some pretty severe treatments.   It left us wondering if we would be able to take our annual trip to Ouray.

We always look forward to fall and the end of the hot Texas summers.  This year Taylor played 7th grade football and ran cross country.  He loved football!  Cross country, not as much, but he had a great team and was usually the second place runner on the team.  He is growing up way too fast for these old grandparents!

Presley is also growing up and this was her first year to show steers.  She's a tiny little thing but fortunately she had a dog gentle steer in her calf she named Sprinkles.  Taylor and Presley showed at the State Fair of Texas and Presley placed second and Taylor was third!

Hurry Fall.  This Texas heat is not as much fun as it once was!

Taylor's first football picture, looking tough!

Serving as captain at this game.

Pres and Papaw made the front page for Grandparent's Day at school.

Taylor's Cross Country meet in Hico.  Wondering what he's thinking?

It's finally over after a rain delay.  The team placed 3rd!

State Fair, preparing for the prospect show as brother and sister!

Taylor, the old pro!

Presley placed second and had to check nose print and weight!

Her first backdrop picture!

A beautiful red ribbon for a red faced little showman!
