In August, Beverly had a little heart episode that really gave us a scare. During the night she started having some very fast and irregular heartbeats that she recognized as not normal! After taking her blood pressure, heart rate and talking for a while we decided to wait until morning (it wasn't long until morning by then!) to see her doctor. But when I called the clinic and mentioned the word "heart", we were quickly told to go to ER. Fortunately Dr. Lee(Randy) was on call as well as Kelsi Craddock Clowdus, a nurse from Jordan's class, so she got the royal treatment!
After all the tests and staying in the hospital for the night, and seeing a visiting cardiologist from Waco, she was released with a suspected diagnosis of supraventricular tachycardia or SVT. The cardiologist wanted to do a nuclear stress test so he scheduled one for September.
During the test Beverly's heart rate spiked at 215 very quickly resulting in a lot of attention in a hurry! The good news, if there is any, is that the condition can be treated with medications or a heart ablation. We chose the medications for now and they seem to be working after a period of extreme fatigue. We are thankful for the good care and the ability to treat it. Onward we go!!
