Thanksgiving 2017

Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays, probably because of the great food.  We remember especially the food of Thanksgivings at our own parent's houses when we were younger and the kids were little.   Nana always fixed the best turkey and dressing and all the fixings, complete with her famous chocolate pie.  Granny also fixed turkey or a chicken and dressing, or perhaps a ham.  We didn't realize then how much work went into that day until it was our time to get everything together!

Holidays for us now are usually an every other year thing with our kids since we have to share them with the other in-laws.  With Jeremy and Annie in Denver, it's usually just Jennifer's family and Jordan's bunch.  2017 was our year to host the annual fall meal and we also celebrated Remington's birthday.

It's funny how all the other kids gather around to "help" the birthday
boy open his presents!

The girls look like they are planning something big!

The old fort, with it's swing, is still a gathering place for all of the kids when
they come.  Looks a little crowded but they don't seems to care!

Both of these girls take gymnastics and we always have to host a
make believe gymnastic meet where Papa introduces them and then we
have to pretend to give them a score, which always comes out a tie!

Meanwhile, this boy is busy investigating whatever he can find to try out!
He loves to get into the Jeep and turn every knob and switch on every switch.

Doesn't he look innocent!

Taylor is growing up, literally, but he still likes a good sugar cookie!

More flips and jumps and turns!

The parents enjoyed visiting while the kids were performing!

Remington even had Papa up in the fort!

Looks like Remington found a cupcake!

From the looks of things, I think Papa might be helping him eat it!

The possumhaw had it's best crop of berries in 2017.

Time for pansies........

and geraniums during the fall weather.  These plants are
probably 3-4 years old, having been held over under the house during winter,
